Partnered with the global nonprofit, EDC’s NYC-based brand and communications teams, to define a new tone of voice—modern, concise, and equity-centered—for the relaunch of edc.org. I co-led the development of copy guidelines aligned with their strategic vision and applied them across key site sections and new landing pages, ensuring clarity, accessibility, and impact. Beyond writing, I adapted customized WordPress copy blocks to structure and publish content directly in the CMS, designing pages for flow and readability.

The resulting messaging framework distilled 65 years of complex programmatic work into language that resonates with both the press and global audiences. This strengthened how EDC communicates its mission and advanced organizational goals in education, workforce development, and health worldwide. Thesis—Senior Writer

Hired through Thesis, I crafted UX, marketing, and sales enablement copy for Adobe and other global brands. My Adobe work spanned App Store feature descriptions, AI feature launches, landing pages, and multi-channel campaigns. I translated complex product innovations—especially around AI—into clear, value-driven narratives that increased adoption and engagement.

Product + UX: “What’s New” updates for iOS/Android/Google Play, in-app tooltips, and feature cards for tools like Sign & Fill and new AI capabilities.

Campaigns + landing pages: Landing pages for Photoshop and Creative Cloud new features, modular email pods, social and Google ads, and internal messaging matrices.

Sales Enablement: FAQs, one-pagers, and buyer guides for Adobe partnerships (Miro, Mural, LinkedIn) and Airtable, plus education landing pages for students and teachers.

I help organizations and foundations navigate early-stage funding applications by providing strategic storytelling, clear and accessible language, and creative design for large-scale, high-impact initiatives.

The Carter Center — Supported the first-round application for the Audacious Project 2024.

Mercy Corps — Partnered with strategist Shannon O’Malley to shape their first-round application for 100&Change 2024.

Roddenberry Catalyst Fund & Fellowships — Evaluated first-round proposals for six consecutive years, offering insights that guided funding decisions for high-impact projects.

The Program—Writer / CRM

Partnered with designers, writers, and the Creative Director in Figma to craft subject lines, preheaders, headlines, body copy, product copy, and CTAs. Brought Fender Marketing’s briefs to life, launching a new CRM program that delivered consistent, on-brand messaging across digital channels from January–April 2024. Campaign emails were also translated and localized for UK audiences, extending the program’s global reach.

Worked with the Senior Producer and Creative Director to deliver Nike Jordan Discover Stories under tight deadlines. After photoshoots and influencer interviews, I drafted story copy within 48 hours—researching product details, pulling influencer quotes, and aligning copy with imagery while adhering to Nike’s tone and app character limits.

Crafted in-app threads spotlighting Jordan Flight Essentials, and streetwear style in Chicago — women and men — and Atlanta — women and men — and a women’s thread featuring LA street style. Copy amplified influencer voices while showcasing the Jordan brand’s energy and apparel.

Hovercraft’s Sr. Producer provided email interviews with the founders and campaign goals. I wrote stories featuring six Black-owned local businesses and Jordan’s first title win at The Forum. These stories were part of a large-scale retail experience at Shoe Palace and were featured on @shoepalace social during Super Bowl weekend.

Hired as an Associate Producer in 2020, I quickly expanded into Lead Writer and Editor to support the IM team’s transition to remote work. From 2020–2021, I produced copy and provided creative direction across all custom-integrated marketing campaigns, streamlining messaging and ensuring consistency across landing pages, product guides, banner ads, and social/video channels.

Brookes hired me to refine her brand story, elevate website copy, and direct a marketing campaign for the launch of her new line of straw hats. The copy I developed was also used across social media and newsletter campaigns.

I updated the brand story and studio description for Brookes Boswell Hats and her hand-blocking studio, then researched the straw hat-making process and the craft of Ecuadorian toquilla artisans. I conducted interviews with Brookes to craft the introduction for her new Ecuador collection and a journal-style piece highlighting her travels and inspiration.

Additionally, I support customer engagement by creating email flows in Klaviyo, ensuring consistent voice and storytelling across marketing touchpoints.

Mercy Corps: Brand Team

While covering for the Mercy Corps brand team Project Manager during their month-long leave, I managed daily marketing projects and the yearly donor calendar. During this time, I amplified the voices of Syrian youth for a broader digital audience by distilling a previously published Mercy Corps report into a concise, engaging article and curated featured photos from the MC photo bank to complement the story.

Columbia Area Transit: Return of the Pink Trolley

Design Week Portland was a week-long, all-inclusive festival celebrating projects and processes across the creative community. I joined the all-volunteer team in 2018 as a copywriter/editor, copyediting workshop and event descriptions for the website and co-creating real-time social posts to amplify events during the festival week.

I developed a story bank and communications toolkit to educate legislators on the benefits of home visiting programs and help secure funding. To ensure accuracy, I researched programs and collaborated with leaders across Oregon, gathering insights on services, capacity, challenges, and needs to inform key decision-makers.

I conducted client interviews to craft emotionally compelling testimonials for the internal story bank and documented discussions with program directors to produce actionable reports for policymakers. The toolkit included a media list, advocacy contacts, and customizable templates for social media and newsletters tailored to statewide programs.

Beyond communications, I facilitated the redesign of the Oregon Foster Youth Conference logo, hiring a freelance designer to modernize their branding.

As a communications fellow, I supported environmental campaigns by reframing Appalachia coal-mining issues for the Director of Communications through research and media assessment. I wrote articles and social media posts for national organizations and developed a nonprofit digital communications toolkit. One highlight included crafting a piece on Hurricane Sandy as Instagram’s watershed moment in 2012, illustrating how social media shapes perspectives and connects people to resources and each other.
